At the end of August, we invited our best students to the Venice Film Festival at the Academy’s most important awards ceremony: the Golden Dragons.
For the boys, it was an opportunity to participate in one of the most renowned events in the industry. The evening at the Venice Film Festival had an iconic setting: the “Tropicana” room of the Hotel Excelsior, a place of worship for so many Hollywood actors and directors who parade the adjacent red carpet or land in the hotel’s legendary dock every year. In this culturally rich and inspiring context, Golden Dragons were presented to students who excelled and distinguished themselves during the 2023/24 academic year. In all, 26 students, selected from more than two hundred, from all over Italy and some even from abroad, attending the Academy’s three-year courses, were awarded prizes. Presenting the awards was lecturer Sarah Arduini, an Academy Award recipient for “The Jungle Book,” produced by Disney. Also on stage was Jan Luc Sala, art director of multinational tech giant Ubisoft.
At the conclusion of the fourth edition of the Golden Dragons, we can confidently say that these represent an important milestone in the history of Side Academy and our students, a certificate of excellence that we want to carry forward to achieve ever higher goals for us as an Academy and for our students.
