From Verona to London: in the places where the most iconic films are born

In September, Side Academy students traveled to London for a series of professional meetings inside some of the most important international studios in the field of CGI, animation and visual effects.
The visit included three world-leading studios-Framestore, One of Us and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM)-where they were able to get a close look at production pipelines, departmental organization and the working methods of teams engaged on global film projects.

During the experience, we met several Italian professionals who now work permanently in the international market, including Silvia Pasqualetto, Top Trainer Side Academy and former student, now concept artist for ILM.

The trip also included a visit to Warner Bros. Studios – The Making of Harry Potter, an additional in-depth look at the production of one of the most iconic franchises in film history, including set designs, real set assets, concepts, props and traditional and digital VFX solutions.

During the trip, students were able to visit several places in the heart of the city: museums (Natural History Museum, British Museum and Tate Modern ), creative neighborhoods (Soho), historic architecture and landmarks of the British capital.
